A small group of users may be controlling parts of Digg

8/1/2006
I just submitted a VERY accurate story to Digg critiquing their promotion system, and how it may be being manipulated by a small group of right-wing users. The story was up to 138 diggs in 4 hours, which would put the article on the front page without question, except, a small group of unknown users has marked the story as "lame" which buried it.
here is the Digg link that was burried.
How Michelle Malkin's followers are promoting Digg articles

here is the email I got when I brought it to Diggs attention. 8/1/06 7:48pm
"We understand, but that's just the reality of a 100% democratic website. Sometimes good stories get buried and bad stories get promoted." - Digg support

"Free speech is democratic. A small group of users controlling the news is a dictatorship." - Taylor

I have not received a reply from Digg. I will keep you posted.
